Privacy Policy
VPN Detector does not collect, store, sell, or share any personal data. There are no data.
What the app does
VPN Detector checks whether your device's traffic appears to route through a VPN. To do this, the app queries your current public IP address and its associated country from an IP lookup service, directly from your device.
Data we collect
None. VPN Detector has no accounts, no sign-up, no server of ours that receives your data. Everything the app shows you — your IP address, country, and connection status — is displayed on your device and never transmitted to us.
Network requests
To determine your public IP and location, the app makes a request to a third-party IP lookup service. Like any internet request, that service technically receives your IP address in order to respond. The response is used only to render your status on-screen and in your widgets; it is not logged, stored, or forwarded by us.
Widgets and on-device storage
Your widget preferences (layout, label, color) and the most recent check result are stored locally on your device so widgets can display them. This data never leaves your device and is deleted when you delete the app.
Third-party services
- IP lookup service — used solely to resolve your public IP and country at the moment you run a check.
- Apple App Store — purchases and subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple. We never see your payment details.
Children's privacy
VPN Detector does not collect data from anyone, including children.
